Catherine Barba, PsyD
My name is Catherine Barba, and I am a clinical psychologist. I am originally from Southern California, where I received my Bachelors in Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. After I graduated, I moved to Washington, DC, where I worked as a case manager at a community mental health agency. I worked with individuals who were previously homeless and granted section 8 housing. I helped support their readjustment to living in a home. After working for two years, and solidifying my passion for the mental health field, I moved to Boston to pursue my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College.
During my doctoral program, I worked in four unique settings including a community mental health, a hospital inpatient unit, a therapeutic day school, and a college counseling center. These settings provided me the experience to work with people across the lifespan in different environments and varying degrees and severity. After receiving my doctorate, I completed my Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Tufts University Counseling Center.
In my free time I love spending time with my husband and French bulldog. I enjoy boxing, hiking, and cheering for Boston Sports teams.
